going scrap yard today for some brakes for my xe project what should i look out for, or not rule out as im guessing there is not going to be anything with the usual upgrades:thumb:

doubt there will be any 2.0 16 valve anything vaux round here aint seen any in scrappers for years how about vectra or omega (i know 5 stud):thumb: or even saab
McGuinesses have a few cav's/astras etc in with 256 brakes on.

My rally car's brakes are from a Cavalier TD - vented and larger and they are a big improvement on standard!

main thing is to get a 2 piece caliper rather than the pin type, much better to maintain etc. Chances are they'll be bigger too.
I might have some 256 calipers lying around if you get stuck.
John H had/has some 2L calipers for sale too. Only wants a tenner for them iirc.

The ones I used were two piece - so much easier for changing pads etc !
