im currently doing an engine converison for a friend of mine, going from a 1.4 spi to a x16xel.

the engine came out of a vectra so i tried to wire in the vectra loom but its nothing like any of the other 16v loom so gave up and got an x16xel loom out of an astra. which i thought would be nice and straight forward however once again its nothing like the wiring diagrams ive seen

so can anyone tell me how to wire in the 9 pin black plug please

blue = coolent
green = tacho
brown-blue?
thin blue red = from pick-up
big blue red = fuel pump
brown-white?
brown-yellow?
black-brown?
black-red?

theres also a 3 pin plug with
black-white
black-blue
black-green

any idea on these?

Brown/blue-ecu light
Brown/white-diagnostics
Brown/yellow-Put to ground to flash fault codes.

The others sound like the car loom connections, starter solenoid etc. Not needed if youve kept the original alt/starter wiring.

You shouldnt have mate?. The only red/black is the starter solenoid on the car loom.
