whats the best brake fluid for track days :thumb:

imho ATE superblue (or amber) is fantastic VFM. Does its job well, is under ?20 a Litre and is really easy to bleed through as its blue (or amber when changing the blue out after a year)

you could get the castrol racing stuff for ?50 a litre but its not good on the brake seals etc.

nice one you da man stu i went into halfords a we look the best tey can offer if 5.1 for a tenner cheers amigo

I've got that halfords stuff in the astra and its ok.... bit sodding runny though.

lol i could not work this one out they have got (racing) dot 4 stuff i thought 5.1 was a better

depends.... the DOT is only a spec that the fluid has to reach as a minimum. Some DOT4's are better than a 5.1 but being bette (higher boiling point etc) you make some sacrifices like life span/seal eating etc.

fortunately the ATE superblue seems to be a happy middle behaving like normal fluid in erms of life/water absorbtion but with the high boiling points
