First of all, i`ll take no blame for damages, burns general co*k up-age if you decide to follow my guide, use at own risk lol

Well i tinted my headlamps recently, so thought i`d do a bit of a guide...

First thing you want to do is remove the whole headlamp unit from the car, remove bulbs and give it a good clean, make sure there is no moss/mould left as it will stink your oven out lol

Then place unit in the middle of the oven and let it cook on gas mark 7/200 degrees C for 8 minutes (adjust time accordingly for fan assisted ovens) or untill the sealent has softend enough

Carefully using appropriate (sp?) protective hand wear, prise the glass away from the unit. My choice of prising tool was a little girly pair of scissors lol dont dis them, as the PIMP

I say carefully, as accidents can and do happen...
ooops! lol

I reccomend starting with the corners, and gently running your prising tool down the seem

Successfull prise-age will have you something like this

Next, you want to get all of the sealant off the glass and unit, mask off the areas you dont want to spray and sand the rest down

Then using some high temp paint (i went with matt black in rattle can form) spray your sanded area, i gave it two coats

The de mask it and it will look something like this (it doesnt have to be your best spray job, nor does it have to be neat, as you wont see any imperfections once the glass is back on :thumb: )

I then gave my glass a real good clean inside and out whilst it was seperated

Once the paint is dry, use some form of sealant (i used loctite instant gasket sealant) and stick you glass back to the unit

A rubbish pic to compare the tinted lamp with a normal one

And both done :)

The light is hitting the offside here, making the lamp seem not as dark as the other :(

For nuclearwaves...
Pierce lid several times, place on a microwaveable plate and heat on full power accordingly..
750W - 2 mins 30 secs
850W - 1 min 50 secs
900w - 1 min 30 secs

Then turn and repeat heating suggestions
Leave to stand for 30 seconds and begin removing glass lol lol

(for any spesh people, please dont do that, you`ll blow your microwave up lol )

They WERE yours yes :p
Cheers dude

It softens the sealent they use to stick the lense on to the back piece.

I'm currently doing similar with a set of 306 headlights and manged to soften the sealent adequately with a heat gun.
