top mount on shocks

i dont think this top mount looks right

I had the same problem with the rsx's

the part you took out i left in, but even leaving this in & putting the bearing plate the shaft in the shock still didnt move on the bearing it stayed solid?

Following the Spax installation destructions it states to leave the triangle part in (which is vauxhall) & also put the bearing plate in, once i tightened it, it locks the shock shaft not on the bearing??

Can anyone give a correct installation procedure (Please)??????
