P38 is ok - new formula - easy sand and it is easy
Stevens though is used by most body shops and is available in nearly all car paint supply stores (all the ones I've been into) - usually call it catalloy

P40 is fibreglass but its actually bridging compound. Its P38 with fine fibreglass cut up through it. Good for smallish areas and can be sanded.

If yer after proper fibreglass mesh and resin, then Fastglas is v good. Get it in halfords - the glass matting comes in big sheets or fine strands and it can be seperated so its easier to work with (peels apart).
The resin is needed to melt the fibreglass and male a very strong durable, waterproof plastic. You can sand it but its not easy. Excelent for bridging biggish holes (you can also use alumuinum mesh to make them stronger)

Alternatovely pop into any boat yard and ask them for fibreglass and resin - theyll sell you a gallon of the stuff no probs - not cheap though!
