Just found these and wondered if they are any good? do they fit over the standard shockers?

no reason not to use them tbh.... if you are a competant welder then its fine. I was going to do this to some Konis for my nova but then got proper coilovers cheap.
Thing is its likely to boil the oil in the shock, which will spoil it. Also its a lot of effort involved meaning the time it costs you far outweighs the saving over a proper set up.

i would just get a decent pair of coilovers atleast you get a warranty from brand new with them

the only way you can weld those onto struts is if you find struts that you can dismantle first otherwise youll ruin the struts internals when you weld to it ( as somebody else mentioned above).
You can get those kits for things like mk1 and mk2 escorts,capris etc where you can dismantle the strut bodies.
