new oil pump

Iv Just Fitted A New Oil Pump to my 1.3 sr and rather than just fireing it strate up I Wound The Engine over without any sparkplugs in, It Wouldent Pick Any Oil up, The Sump Is Full Of Oil And The oil Pickup Was Seald Properly. now I dont know werther the engine just isnt spining quickenough to suck it up or werether Its Faulty any ideas.

how do you know it is not lifting oil? try removing the pressure switch and see if it spills out. also pre-fill the filter with oil to save the engine.
it will lift some oil eventually. if you want to prime the pump, remove the plug for the relief valve spring, remove the plunger and pour oil in there to help fill it.

then you may try again.
