After lots of reading ive found that many people say that having discs on the back of thier corsa Bs make them skitty under braking and want to swing thier back out. Is this the same with novas?

Yeah, you can fit different valve things to the master cylinder to reduce the pressure going to the rear brakes, but they can still feel skitty under heavey braking.
Best thing is to just rebuild your drums, will give you planty braking on the rear, discs look cool but not really needed ... thats from someone with rear discs as well !!

rear discs are not required. fit 16v brakes to the front and as R1ch says, rebuild the rear drums.
you could fit a proportioning valve and re-route the brake lines but it is not worth it. it is only for impressing friends/family over car talk modification discussions must you have rear disks.
