have got a gsi mpi fuel tank and a c20xe fuel pump allready, i also want to but the f13 gearbox from my 1.4 engine and mount it to the 1.8 lump for short range increased acceleration. can someone lead me on these topics?

erm, will be the same as fitting a C20 engine

but why fit a large block engine which only has 90bhp lol

as the 1.8 is a long block i think you will need the same engine mount kit you would use with the 2.0 but not 100% on that....

i personally wouldnt bother putting an spi in it tbh...

no point mate if you fitted a small block gsi/gte engine you would see more gains - more power and a lighter block ;)

my 1.4 is dead and im getting a 1.8 for 15 quid and i know the engines history so back to the topic, will the f13 bolt straight on just requireing a longer mount?

Regardless of the price your getting the engine for, its the biggest waste of time on the planet. You'll be paying hefty insurance prices due to the engine capacity, when the performance will be worse than a 1.6 nova engine. Not to mention the extra work converting the shafts if you stick with the big block gearbox (changing clutch and fly if you dont), and splicing the uber complicated SPi loom into your nova. In fact, for that reason alone I would strongly recommend you drop the idea. Theres plenty of cheap engines about if you look.

What engine are we talking here? Does it run a dispack or coil?

Have you run the usual checks? Getting a spark / fuel etc?

Piston rings? Headgasket?

Source a complete SR head and swap it over if it is that.

Im not a mechanic bud. 8v engines are notoriously the easiest way to learn anything about engines.

EDIT: Good point Lee lol lol

So in the space of an hour, youve gone from planning on fitting a new engine into your car to claiming to lack the mechanical knowledge or inclination to diagnose the source of a missfire on your current engine, and then selling up due to lack of interest!

You can see why im utterly confused cant you lol

doing the 1.8 conversion was my last choice of keeping the car, before considering this i had lost all interest mate. now realising this engine to be expensive for the conversion considering the low power i dont see the point in wasting my time anymore and want someone else to give old h210wwv a good home :).
