i think theres to many mk2 nova gsi/sri replicas so ive decided to do something different.
ive been thinking about a mk2 nova sport that vauxhall never made
because you couldnt have the 1.3 engine in a mk2 from standard so ive decided to take different parts from other vauxhalls to build my mk2 nova sport replica

let me know what you all think. :) :)

Personally, I think there is nothing wrong with creating a replica sport. It's a bit like an Impreza or Evo owner kitting up their car in rally stickers.

Although I think a must, would have to be a MK1 front end.

Other's will have different opinions.

A blank canvas requires a lot of thought.

no point making a sport "mk2" replica if you're not going to go the whole hog and get it sprayed white with a sport engine and graphics...

would be good to see though!

If you're going for graphics, the red won't work me thinks!

There was another thread about alternate sport colours.

Do it black, that would look uber-sexual.

I would say try and come up with something original rather than copying an exsisting model but hey i might be biased as i own a sport.

Would you be fitting the brown sport interior? the carbs? the decals?

Keeping the saloon arches or fitting hatch ones?

I recon if its going to be a sport replica it has to have all the sport detailing! as above...

keeping the saloon arches, you cant put hatch aches on a saloon just isnt right. as soon as ive got my 2ltr running the saloon wil be coming off the road and be under treatment:D

and if you do decide to do a sport rep i really wouldnt keep it your colour, after all why do a sport rep if you wasnt going to spray it white waste of time and effort for something that wouldnt look right imo

well seeing as you like your colour then why dont you keep the standard bumpers but spray them in anthrite ( think thats right ) ? along with gte/gsi skirts and maybe a gsi spoiler or a predtor one. And lower it alot like my old one v

Then maybe chose a nice spliter to go on it maybe something different like a golf vr6 one

I think we've concluded this isnt going to be remotely like a sport replica. Its a 5 door, in red lol. Its going to be a MK2 with a sport engine lol.

ALthough i like the idea of a sport with a MK2 front end and a MK2 dash painted brown. Best of both worlds then lol

not a 5dr a 3dr hatchback in red

Sorry, my mistake, i read BIGS's post and put 2 and 2 together and made 5. Although it doesnt really change my point. A replica is something that looks like the original. A MK2 red Nova isnt a MK1 white sport with even a long stretch of the imagination.

1.3's a great engine though, but getting harder to find a good one!

What would you do about the decals?

just vaux trev

if vauxhall did make a mk2 sport how do you all know it would have still been white or had the same decals? so anything could really be a mk2 sport rep:roll: :wtf:

Great idea! Mk2 GSI front bumper, compomotive wheels, no side skirts and full decals but it needs to be white, why not just look for a white car if you don't want to respray. Dont know what interior look I'd go for?

Get a place to make up vinal to go right onto the car in three bits wing, door then rear arch
