I want to get some cheap bass in me boot and i've seen the following proper budget gear on www.les-smith.co.uk:

SPLX 800 Watt Bandpass Box with two 10" flat cone subs for ?59.99,

and Boschmann PCH-2500FX High Efficiency Mosfet Amplifier - 320 Watts for ?64.99

I know very little about ICE so would these two work together? Any good?
I know with ICE generally the more you spend the better the quality but I'm on a budget at the mo. Any advice appreciated. Cheers.

Yes they would probably work well together, the splx subs are very good for the money, as my friend has one which i installed(the top one on the les smith page) and that sounds awsome, the box is worth around 50 quid as it is, if it were to be sold normally on its own.

And as much as i despise boshmann, if that is a class d amp as les smith say it is, then that is one good piece of kit (class d amps are normally VERY expensive). Its got all the bits you need to run the subs with so it should be fine.

Hmmm as much as i would normally slate this kind of gear, it seems ok, and as a budget system you couldn't really do much better, unless you looked at some mail order sony bits and bobs(probably cost you a bit more though)

One point, will that box fit in the back of your nova?

Thanks JonL

Hmmm, a bit fishy. The above Boschmann amp on les-smith has been bumped up to ?79.99 in the space of a couple of days and the description now says 300 watts. Honestly, this country. If anyone sees a good price on an amp can they let me know.

I think the box will squeeze in but my 6x9s would need a bit of relocation.

Anyone have any thoughts on the SPLX amps on www.motor-world.co.uk

Would the SPLA150 power the above mentioned 10" SPLX subs efficiently?

2 x 75 watts for ?34.99
or,
4 x 75 watts for ?49.99
or,
2 x 175 watts for ?59.99

Which should I go for as I'm after the cheap stuff?

If the 4*75 watts can be bridged then that should be ample power for the subs.... you could run it of the 2*75 but for the extra ?10 or whatever you might as well get the 4*75 and bridge it.... 2 subs running at 150Watts RMS each.... blow your f**kin' head off!
