After landing myself with a good job today, I thought I'd treat myself and insure the xe :D

Rang Adrian Flux, they quoted me ?489 tpft, on 5kmile limit, ?350 excess domestic pleasure exc. commuting.
They wanted over ?1k for fully comp...

Rang HIC, they quoted me ?515 tpft, but then got it down to ?464, which included 5kmile limit, third party cover on other insured vehicles (no limit), 90day europe cover, ?195 excess.
Asked how much fully comp would be, and they quoted me ?749.21, same as above 5kmile limit, third party on other vehicles etc, ?350 excess and... trackday cover...

Going to go with HIC, but what should i go for? The car's going to be used for trackdays so is the extra ?300 worth it for fully comp?

Cheers for your advice!

Chris

Well, fully comp will mean youd get things like windscreen cover, and it would cover you if you bumped your car, as tpft is only for third parties.

Id go with HIC, tpft...
Seems a good price that.

yeh, i know what you mean... both are good, considering the area i live, my age, 1 years ncb and a major accident a year ago!

no one intentially bumps their car, but when you've got over ?1k invested in it and you get nothing back etc... the car will be rarely used on the road especially now i'm goign to coventry but its nice to have. and the trackday cover...

decisions decisions...

Excess on the fully comp policy is ?350, so forget that right away as that would probably cover any payout you could claim. Only go for that if they'll give you an agreed valuation.

Drive any car with HIC wins it for me.

How old are you? Try Sky, they're pretty good. Much better than Flux and HIC for me.

went fully comp with hic in the end... get an agreed valuation as well! and its a classic policy so i can exchange it for the manta if and when i choose to use it!

the track day cover was a nice thing to have really...
