Hi guys

quick question, ive removed all my carpets and insulation stuff in preparation for welding the holes and painting the floor. Ive managed to chip off most of the sound deadening using a screw driver and then used a heat gun and scraper, but im still left with hundreds of little black spots which are impossible to remove. Any ideas as its driving me nuts.

cheers

Mr 999, nothing is impossible. it just takes effort to have a beautiful nova. one day you will own one, but not without many hard hours of effort and toil there are many ways. some ways are better than others, but here are some suggested ways to your troubles.

petrol and lots of rags,

or,

paint over it.

if you wish to replace it, use dynamat and a heatgun.

many kind wishes for the future!!

Petrol & rag as above, also cellulose thinners etc or even polish it off with T-cut.

Anything chemical should do it really, maybe oven cleaner?

assuming the the underseal is bitumen based it seems sensible to remove it with a petroleum spirit...like petrol. but also as Mr Green suggests there may be other alternatives. but by far petrol is the easiest, most freely obtainable and paint safe suggestion.

have fun

Ok, ill give that a try, but after the most of it has ben removed with a heatgun, its now went solid again. Will petrol definately take it off?
