GSI door decals

Spent a bit time talking to a guy via email about GSI door decals and copies not being exact measurements etc. Got my set in the post this morning and I have to says they are about as perfect as they come unless you want to go and spend ?15 per door from Vauxhall and about ?10 for the boot sticker alone.

Pic shows a genuine sticker next to the copies, there are almost exact, the border on the dot of the i is a fration of a mm to small but when on a car youd not notice

lol got loads of genuine decals somewhere, find them every now and again then put them back in a safe place lol

you'll also notice that that the boot i as a square dot, didnt relce this but again this is exactly copied from my originals

So what you are saying is the boot 1 needs to be changed to like the door ones because the dot aint round?

If they are as good as you say i'll take a set or 2 depending on how much for 2 sets inc postage.

2 gen vaux boot decals , both have the wrong G and one has a boarder on the red I on doesnt lol

Looks like the suppiers to vauxhall cooked it up and the vauxhall agents or whatever you wanna call them didnt even notice on collection of stock. Poor poor customer service.

When i got my car repainted i managed to get the original griffin from vauxhalls, but the guy that put it on the bonnet placed it like an inch too high up the bonnet, everytime i look at it it bugs me. Do vauxhall still supply that one havent checked? and is it easy to replace OR AM I JUST BEING FUSSY

the decal with the "wrong" G was used on non-UKs Astra MK2s, they were named GSi here, not GTE, and their decals had the other G

To confuse you more: I have 2 original Nova GSi boot vinyls with the decal on and the dot is not square but oval ;);)
But to confuse you even more: The Vauxhall and Opel ones have different part numbers, so it could be possible that the Vauxhall Novas had square dots and the Opel Corsas had oval dots.
Will have to check that in old brochures

I had a set off ebay for ?4.99 a few weeks ago. They look spot on IMO.

The OE GSi door stickers on my GSi from new were a bit poor as the red dot in the I was off centre. I'm well happy with the ones I have anyway.

There was a thread on Vauxsport where the guy was actually given help & dimensions to get them spot on.

I might put one on & get a pic.

just had a look through my press release broucher's and the gsi is shown with a round dot on the I not a square like they all seem to be lol , so looks like steve's might be the only correct gen vaux ones lol

I cant imagine the square dot on the I is meant to be different from the oval dot on the door stickers. Its probably a different batch from another GM supplier.

I have a new tailgate vinyl on my GSi & the GSi transfer matches the oval on the door.

as others have stated there are some discrepancies between different gen vauxhall ones let me know how you want them and i will do my best for you!!
im waiting on some vinyl samples from my suppliers hopefully will have them next week and then ill start doing the mk1 sr hatch stickers again too

Craig is that an original vinyl piece looks it, i had to get a some made up, some hard wearing 10yrs vinyl, bit the door pillar i got made up, have already started to peel, so frustrating and its the wrong shade.

Oh any suggestion on lowering the car PLEASE? ride hight suspension brand etc as ive seen your details thread regaring different suspension kits you've had experince with, i want it looking like my old nova G642 UCA again pic on the cav slab thread .

P.s if you go lower than 40mm you apparent have issue with the camber setting:confused: Its more than likely not gonna see a track.:thumb:

The vinyl on my tailgate was new in 2002. Its genuine though.

As for the vinyl I have no suggestions tbh other than the links I post up for the vinylcorporation.com

Looking at that GTE above, the tailgate vinyl is black like what mine was originally & the pillar vinyls are grey to match the door handles. The new tailgate vinyl on my GSi is grey, which initially bugged me but on a Red car looks better IMO as it matches all the other vinyl & plastic mouldings (side skirts etc)

Maybe the grey & black vinyl depends on what colour of car you have in the 1st place.

Got mine today with the dot being round like it should be on the ''i'' i'm very happy at the mo but until they are on a car you can't really tell.
I would say buy a set if you are after some but get a set with the round for on the ''i''

arent the gsis tickers darker for white gsi's? cant really see silver stickers on a white car? it hink the colour is slightly darker?
