Stated stripping down the loom on my car and have just got to the ignition setup, which came off a 1.4SR and my loom is from a 1.2 carb.

Can someone please post a picture of the wiring? the ignition module is the 5 pin one (4 on the plug, 1 on the coil) or tell me what colour goes where?

The Haynes manual confussed the hell out of me and pretty much anyone I show it too lol

Cheers:thumb:

On the sr ignition loom there should be a 3pin black plug with green/brown/black wires. Tacho/earth/ign live. Join them to the old 1.2 wires :)

cough* I dont have a SR ignition loom...

Theres a 2 pin socket on the dissy and a 4 pin socket on the ignition module

So, green is tacho and brown and black run to the dissy and like my old 1.2 plug, one pin isn't used?

Hmm, its going be tricky do without the mini loom.
No, the brown/black dont run to the dizzy, they go to the coil/module. Your easiest option is find a loom tbh.

I dont seem to have a black or brown going into that part of the engine bay tho

On my one 1.2 there was a red and black running from the dissy to the coil, I can only assume there was a trigger that started it and then the power from the coil (via king lead) powered back to the dissy. Uber >

wanted ad now posted lol

Aye, they are the trigger wires. There should have been a few wires going to the coil area on the 1.2 loom.
Getting the sr coil loom is the best option as it'll just plug in, with just 3wires to join up :)

Looks like this: Mine was a 7pin module iirc, i didn't think sr's had 4 pin ones.

Theres a 2 pin socket on the dissy

I have this spare, the plug and length of wire attached.

Although, you can use the 7 pin loom, but cut the thinnest green at port 1 and black wire at port 3 and the lower black wire that goes to port 4 ;)

I have a 7 pin plug and ignition amplifier right here in front of with the wires cut out from when I did it :thumb:

My dizzy.

I bought the 4/5 pin and dizzy from a 1.4SR, came off the same car.

Top coil pic is 1.6 stuff. Middle coil pic is SR stuff, dizzy is also SR stuff.

oh, the top coil and dizzy came from the same car apperantly.... Think i've been fleeced :wtf:

What do you have spare then mike? The whole mini loom or just the two pin plug and a couple wires?

Was that SR coil off eBay? I sold one some time ago, that had a brand new module (like yours) and had the bracket spray painted black lol lol

right then, I'm going to make a loom, if just for a bit.. Any pics of what wire goes where? Ideally I need a picture of the loom with no tape on it. (Needle - haystack...?)

The module shares the tacho and 12v feeds with the coil, and no3 on the module is the connection for the shield on the dizzy to module wires(it gets earthed to stop interference)
