View Full Version : Tailgate advice
I want to remove the spoiler on an early tailgate for when it gets sprayed. Is it only held on by the sticky stuff or will it leave holes?
I think both types of spoiler leave the 4 holes at the top.
Damn :(
Thanks though :) saves me finding out and it being to late!
If there is holes, you should be able to see the threads on the inside of the tailgate at the top.
I haven't got the tailgate yet, and the one I have on it at the moment doesn't have a spoiler but is rotten around the window seals :(
Just fill they holes, there only tiny.
I take it your not wanting to refit the spoiler?
Am unsure. I think it'd look good either way :thumb: Probably end up leaving it on though TBH.
Am unsure. I think it'd look good either way :Sdepends which spoiler it is
It's a mk1 SR one, has the round lock and no grab handle but it does have a spoiler. I really should get photoshop, then I could decide so easily!
so its a wrap around then. imo it will suit your car with the wrap around so just refit it
Thanks :D I reckon that will be the best idea.

mk1 spoilers (like all mk1 bits) are so rare nowadays. Do it!
I've got a grey mk1 spoiler in my shed awaiting the day it goes on a car. Lord knows when tbh.
Yeah, I reckon it will look fine on mine but I also really like the smooth look of no grab handle or spoiler like the standard tailgate has at the moment. Thanks for replies guys, you have helped me decide :D
