As tittle really
Ive done a search but cant seem to find whats needed

So if anyone has done this before can you list all the bits i`d need? :)

And also how easy would it be to do? i`m ok at basic mechanics, limits are suspension/brake changing

The cambelt is about due to be changed on the 1.2, so rather than spend money on that, just to spend money doing a heart transplant on the loon at a later date i thought i`d do it soon :) hopefully in time for PVS lol

Ive been doing a bit of research on the 1.6 8v running twin 40`s, and that sounds like just what i want as a daily (i`m putting a VR6 in my mk2 golf, then adding forced induction :D :thumb: )

What other cars came with the same 1.6 8v as the GTE? or would it just be easier to buy a donor GTE?

I was thinking, buy a GTE ready for the scrapper, rebuild the engine and do the twin 40 conversion, that way i could get that all in and set up/running sweet ready to put it all into the loon
I`ll be able to keep using the loon day to day whilst working on the engine etc too

Sorry for the essay and abondance of questions :wtf:
Cheers for any help in advance

Craig

If You Use A 1.6 From A Cav Or Astra Not Injection Its A Straight Swap Dont Need Anything At All

be careful with that advice.... some of the early cav 1.6's were big blocks, so the same work as fitting an XE, for probably 80bhp max lol

what a nasty nasty nasty engine..... why would you want to swap engines for something with less go than a 1.4 carb lol
