my car lets a puff of blue smoke out of it when u let it tick over for a few mins and then give it a rev! but thats the only time it does it! ive heard it may be value seals is this right?
Or piston rings
Or head gasket
Does it do it when you floor it when driving?

do a compression test. it could be either rings or valve guides. a combination of both or a clogged crank case breather.

Possibly as above and or valve stem seals.
Does it do it on first start up after standing over night?
How many miles?, engine type?
rings personally thats what went on my 14sr and the valve guides

just sounds like a tired/thrashed/high milage engine. could be a combination of all above.
just rebuild it. it will cost about ?100 GBP
