What other Nova bits can I fit to a Jreg 1.2 to improve performance. Not considering engine swaps, dont need a major improvment (got a ST170 for going quick!) as this is a daily runner and is being built on a budget ;)

Cheers

SR downpipe, manifold and system should free it up a bit, and a weber 32/34 carb should improve it a little but tbh you wont notice that much diffrence.

Think BRAKES

Think SUSPENSION

Think WEIGHT REDUCTION

There's not a great deal of power to be had out of the 1.2, so you need to make it faster in other ways ;)

I'll rob a set of 256's/288's when I get something in for scrap ;)

Its lowered 40mm already although i'll get some adjustables at some point when they come up cheap

I might reduce the weight somehow but nothing too major, I still want interior trim and stuff so will have to be careful how much I strip out.

Take out the spare wheel, remove the padding/sound deadening under the carpets. Fit some lighter bucket seats on lighter mounts.

A 1.3 is so much better than a 1.2 it just doesnt make sense to tune the 1200 IMO.

You dont say what 1200 you have, carb or SPi.

One step at a time then! Dont even own the car yet & asking how to make it more powerfull...

I sold a 1600 GTE cam to a lad with a 1200 last month, he has told me its made a nice gain. Cheap & easy.

Might have to have a look for a cam then!

Got the ST170 for going fast, this is gunna be a general hack about, Drizz is hopefully sorting me out GSi bumpers, skirts, rear spoiler, door cards, and rear lights, pick up some 16's with 45's on Sat, the cars already lowered and i'm yet to go up the yard so see what I can rob off the scrappers although i've heard theres a CavV6 and GTE16v coing for scrap so they'll donate some parts FOC ;)

i cant remember off hand if there is a fule pump lobe machined on the 1600 cam. it will be a requirement that you check before or it will not work to be the driver of the pump for the carburettor!!

Some 1600 cams have it, some dont.
