right,received my camshaft back today for my gte.was ment to be re-profiled to 270degree.

going with all the good feedback ive heard about autosprint,i thought i'd send it to him

upon inspection of the cam,it doesnt look any different to what it did when i sent it.just a darker colour and a covering of oil.

now from what i assume the 270degree cam means the lobes should be 270degrees apart.like a clock face at 3 o'clock, but is at about 4-5 o'clock.

can someone shed some light on this mystery to see if its been altered at all.

270deg is how much crankshaft rotation the cam holds the valves open for...

right.shouldnt the lobes have been changed somehow for this to happen?

Yeah, but it will be hard to spot.

ok.well i dont see why he wouldnt touch it unless he was dodgy.but very doubtful.

You "may" be able spot the different if you looked at them side by side.
Looking at pics is a bit more difficult.

Heres a pic i took, of a spi cam next to a Kent AST2 cam(about 295 degrees)
Its a big pic to show the detail, and you can see the lobe difference, but it wasn't a re-grind, and is a more agressive cam to a 270

sorry to hijack mate, but how much were you charged for this?

got a spare set of cams and im thinking about having them reprofiled thats all.....

and i doubt youll be able to tell any differences without having a standard one next to it, as adam has already said.

Autosprint charge ?87.50 for a 270deg cam on an exchange basis.
