could you guys let me know, what other work is needed when fitting a fast road kent/piper camshaft the engine(e16se), as it is,k/n airfilter,peco backbox(but full system will soon be added) , so pretty much standard. would this work ok on its own? or would i have to uprate any other internals/externals? etc

there is no reason for it not to work, however you will not be getting the most from the cam with only those mods. perhaps some asjustable pullies will allow you to time the cam to the manufacturers requirements to get as much as you can from it.

Yeah it works on standard valve train.
As long as the cams pretty mild.
