Scanned PNG magazines

Right guys,

I'm off to the in laws on Sunday :(

They have a nice new scanner :)

I'll try and get as much scanned as possible and post it up hopefully sunday night.

Any suggestions as to what format to save the scanned pictures at? I was gonna use Jpeg.

Never used a scanner before so I don't know if there is another format which is better for reading text etc? also depends on what formats the scanner can save them as aswell I guess. :confused:

Where should I post these once I have them?

Should keep me out the way of the mother in law for a far while lol

JPEG should be ok if you keep the compression fairly low, or scan them in at high res.

Was going to start a thread about this subject

Where do we stand legally about scanning mag features and posting on here ?

Can we keep to scanned images rather than just photo's of mags - that way the quality can be kept of a high standard and readable

I've a few old skool PNG mags I can scan in

Maybe Admin could open a section up with each scanned edition posted and kept in order for future reference

Just a couple of my thoughts

I think i only have from issue 12 onwards. I intend to scan every page.

Be good to get a complete set of scanned issues

Right guys, Ive scanned every page from issue 17, 18, 19 so far.

Theres alot to post up in one go, should I go ahead? or email them to someone so they can be put in a new section?? :cool:

I've mis placed my PNG News during a house move & havent seen them in ages... Grrrr

purhaps we could have a locked stickied thread for them which as any one scans in copies admin can add them. until eventually we have a thread with every copy
