Hi all,
Thought i'd best start off a project thread for 'Project Luxe+' as its my first real chance of a mini resto!
I purchased this over the phone, its a J reg Nova 1.2 Luxe+.....I knew the car already as I got it off a friend of mine who was left it by a deceased relative, I did offer her a substantial amount of cash for it back then but she wouldn't part with it because she knew how mint it was but I later heard through the grapevine that the handbrake failed and it rolled back into concrete lamppost. A few days of persuasion and I bagged it for less than ?200.
Im due to pick it up Friday, but I have some pics that she MMS'd me which i'll post up below.
All in all, its mint, has major Vaux service history, 53k, 2 owners and was cheap so i'll repair it and use it as a daily runner to keep the miles off my Focus ST170.
My current plans for it are to fix the damage, then turn it into a badgeless GSi replica-ish ;) I've found a mint Silk Violet boot minus the glass and spoiler to go on, then its a case of repairing/replacing the rear panel and then sorting a rear bumper.
Right then, on with the few pics I have so far:

Anyway, onto the list of bits I need:
GSi front bumper
Replacement rear bumper
Sideskirts
GSi rear spoiler
White side repeaters (either oval, round or Puma)
Clear rear lights
3"/3.5" rear box
Wheels (thinking about 16" Astra4 SXi wheels or VecSRi140 16")
GSi interior
Replacement dials (either GSi, AstraGSi or DigiDash)

Pos/Neg comments appreciated, will try to keep this updated with progress.

By the way I'd go with the Astra wheels, because the Vectra SRi wheels will be 5 stud and won't fit a standard Nova!

By the way I'd go with the Astra wheels, because the Vectra SRi wheels will be 5 stud and won't fit a standard Nova!

I've found some Astra 16's but cant get the girl to part with them at the moment, although Vectra SRi wheels are available in 4stud, just harder to find!

Sounds good though. Don't do the digidash, they're are evil 80s retro junk that should STAY in the 80s! (Ok, you could say that about a Nova but hey lol)

Lol, Coupe was from my old Civic Coupe from years ago....sorta stuck!

Im thinking more along the lines of Astra/Cav GSi dials, anyone fitted these to a Mk2 Nova?

Cheers ;) Not sure how bad the damage is as yet, aint seen it in the flesh although i'm hoping its just the boot and bumper and the boot dont look pushed in far enough to have mashed the floor in but either way i'll repair it one way or another. I'll have a better snoop round it on Friday when I pick her up and get some more pics up.

bootlid has got glass init but has a dent at the top. that gsi spoiler will hide, ?30 for all mate. yeah in stoke on trent .

Ok cheers, dont put my name down on it but I am interested......I work 24hours a day for 12days at a time, the only 2 days I get off is when I go home to see my kids so it makes it hard to get out and do stuff ;)

Let me see what I can come up with though mate.

Well just a small update, one of my mates has just popped up to collect some money off me, told me he's got a rotten GTE going for scrap.....needless to say, i've got the pick of parts in exchange for a wedge of cash, Project Luxe+ is gunna evolve very soon!

Another mate has a set of GSi bumpers gathering dust in his garage which are mine for free too :)

Not a major update but an update all the same.

I've stripped the rear out totally, clear rear lights have arrived, 16's are on, new boot with spoiler and rear bumper have been sourced, SPi has gone, XE's bolted in place. Should be back with me next weekend.

No not as of yet. Its only bolted in at min, needs wiring up, exhaust fitting, usual bits really.

I've pulled the dent out of the rear and been offered a red tailgate and grey bumper so should be all spanky once I get it back. I've decided change my plans on the way it looks so its going to have a red tailgate and spoiler, sidestrips on one side only, the 16's will go up for sale soon in favour of 15" steels and my friend has just started doing graphic so ive offered it to her to chav up. Im thinking blue viper stripes, door stacks, yellow sunstrip etc etc etc lmao

Another wee update:

Car should be back with me in the next couple of days, I have been buying a few little odds and sods in the meantime!

So far i've bought:
Spax adjustables
Scorpion exhaust
White round side repeaters
Mugen stickers
GREDDY turbo systems stickers
Some odd random stickers (HKS,Fidanza,OS Giken etc)
Evo front bumper
Chav rear bumper

Going to Limo tint the windows aswell I think for the ultimate Chav look hehe

Another minor update, XE's in and it runs but it filled the road with white smoke within 3 mins of being started so its still there being sorted.

Oi! No copying me!!!

Paid ?130 for them with decent 205/50/15's, think i'll smoke them on the sliproad so I can fit 195's. Know any cheap tyre places local to mefor 195/50's??

I know theres a set of Fan's for sale on Mig, similar money but they on the South somewhere. Orange Peel has them for sale.

good to hear :) i'm back yet again on thursday eve :) bought a new set of wheel haha cesaro's with 2 brand new proxes and 2 brand new yokie a539's oh yes lol

Cav slabs need to go now!

I used to struggle for traction, but swapped the rears to the front and fronts to the rears lol and mucho better! although fitting the spax coilovers made an amazing difference! stops the lift under acceleration and brilliant throught eh corners!! think i've got them a tad too stiff for road though!

Glad you gone for Cesaro's, could do without 2 white XE's on Fanblades within 5min of each other!

I come out of Asda multistory earlier, spun through 1st 2nd and 3rd, spun a little in 4th before it gripped lol

I just need my suspension to turn up now, but at least the main bits of it are done now, I can mess about with the little stuff to my hearts content!!!:thumb:

You know it makes sense! Boot needs polishing up really as its a little flat but I CBA at min, im up at J9 till tomorro morn so not got chance to mess about with it up here as my stuffs still at J6 :(

Still not sure if I goin PV, gotta speak to the ex and see if she's willing to cart the kids up there for me, worst case scenario i'll bring the ST.....that stand pass still avail? Dont know if i'd upset anyone by putting a Ford on the stand lol lol lol
