is this when you find a GTE to put them on?

i've got a set here if you want them, jetted to suit 1600 gte nova

bhp increase on standard cam and rev limit will be 15bhp-ish with an exhaust, arp's and a good cam 30-40 is not uncommon

andy, andy, wake up dear your dreaming again....

15bhp on std head/cam etc... WTF 10bhp tops unless someone supplies a RR graph (a good calibrated RR not some make belive one either) of more with proof of a std engine with T40's setup by someone who knows their stuff.

if you have a nova gte thiough, why go to carbs when you can have bike bodies for the same money as new webers?

Most people see 130ish bhp from a 1600 8v, with 40s/good cam etc.
So id say that was true.

15bhp on a standard motor is doubtful.

Didnt think of bike bodies tbh
what else would need doing if i got those instead ?

just the same as with webers bike carbs are easier than throttlebodies as you can yust use a carb dizzy and dont need a management system contact bogg brothers they will be able to supply you with a manifold to fit them

you would need some management like megasquirt or gotech, then you can keep th injection pump etc and all you would need to buy would be an inlet, throttle bodies, filters

i reckon you could do it realistically for 600-700 quid and with the price of new weber's, fuel pump, fuel lines, dizzy, inlet etc etc etc you would probably go over that anyway, unless you find some dirt cheap carbs and an inlet on ebay

p.s. plue you would need to strip the gte loom to run the carbs which is a bit of [pain when it comes to taping it all back up again

imho I'd stick with the std inlet too... just cam the life out of it and let the aftermarket ecu fix the idle etc.

you can still get about 150bhp form the std inlet.

this is the weay i'm going at the mo till i can afford the bike bodies, just waiting for my cam and to get my pistons back then its on with the build! :thumb:

Screw the bike bodies.
You will loose a s**t load of torque trying fit those on there.

I do believe Chris Astley had 167bhp, still with the original inlet fitted!
