Battery Light Stays On !!!

IV JUS PUT THE XE IN THE SALOON IT RUNS AND DRIVES FINE BUT WHEN ITS NOT RUNNIN , EVEN WITHOUT THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION THE BATTERY LIGHT STAYS ON BUT GOES STRAIGHT OUT WHEN I START IT :confused: :confused: ANY IDEAS ??

OH YEA ITS CHARGING FINE AND WHEN I PULL THE TRIGGER WIRE OFF THE BACK OF THE ALTERNATOR THE LIGHT GOES OUT BUT THEN IT DONT CHARGE ????????

the regulater on the alternator is fuked, had it happen on my old escort

yeah think drapers right. had this happen on a punto the other week, replaced alternator and it was fine again.....

had a word with the auto electrics dude we use at work and it turns out its the warning light diode thets given up so iv put a switch in the wire for now but cheers for the help peeps :):):):):)
