an after market fpr should be mounted on fuel inlet or return??
i would have thought inlet but when i brought the car it was mounted on the return! but just to confirm when standing in front of the car looking at engine 2.0 8v the inlet is on the left and return on the right??

on the return!!!!!

you are holding pressure in the rail not metering it... unless you have a closed rail and a special FPR.

odds on this one is a FSE (Fu*king S*it Equiptment... bin it for a cossie weber one)

Aye return. Trev, to see which pipe is which, follow the feed from pump, which will run upto the inlet side at the rail & the return will exit the rail back to the tank.

Leave the std reg on if possible. No need at all to up the pressure or make it 'react' faster according to FSE's litterature. FSE's do nothing.

. FSE's do nothing.

lies!!!

they either make it rich at idle and lean top end or vice versa...

it has got a stupid fse on but that is what i brought it with but it was running a 1.4 fuel pump i put a 1.6 multipoint pump on and now it keeps soaking the plugs i removed the fse and conected the lines together and it was even worse (wouldnt start) but im sure it's on the return as i did trace the fuel lines as said craig, it has no standard reg on it i just dont get it, if the fse is on the return it should make it better by removing the thing as i had the same thought keeping to much fuel in the rail and having nowhere else to go but to soak the plugs

1.4 and 1.6 mpi pumps are identical

i took the 1.6 pump out of an astra at scrappy and it pulls loads better but then the guy who sold me the car said it was a 1.4 fuel pump in the nova so i guess it could o been anything

there are two injection fuel pumps for nova 1.4's, the sri one which is external (same as GTE/GSI as said) and a single point injection one that is internal. Im guessing you had the latter as you fitted an internal astra one as a straight swap.
