Hiya, it sounds a really stupid question but, do any of you know the best way of getting the door pins out, tried a hammer and punch and you already know what happened so how bout it? cheers

get down to a decent motoring shop, or halfords, and get a door pin removal kit, it saves pain & blood

yeah i have the problem of getting them off as ive just burned a set off a nova in the scrappy(saved time was raining)could i drill them out and replace with new pins, does any one have the part number for the front door hinge pins:roll:

As said above, get the proper removal tool, not that dear either. Wouldnt recommend drilling them incase you remove any material you shouldnt cause this will cause play in the door pins when refitted

Ive heard the boot lifter struts are a good fit for them, I did mine with a punch but you end up scratching the paint up. Would get the tool for next time

I also never refit the door using pins and use 8mm bolts instead for ease of removal in future. Use a bolt long enough so that the palin shank going through the bodywork and trim the thread down so there is just enough to get a nyloc nut on.

get an old screw driver cut the end off ,weld a lentgh of bonnet stay to it approx 6 inches

i like the bolt idea :)

i cant remove the pins on my gte i'm breaking, used a pin remover and no joy! going to grind the door off now... and sort at a later date lol

Sometimes a small blow lamp to warm it first loosens the rust

my method will work as the handle of the screw driver is quite a few inches higher than the door so you can hit it hard with lump hammer
