Nova 1.2 Carb Problem???

Just a quick questions. Does anybody on here (im sure theres a few) know how to set up the carb on a 1.2 Nova? i can see that there is 2 screws to adjust (1 large and 1 small) but its not running correctly.

The car idles fine but when running without choke, its got a mind of its own, as soon as i put the choke on it runs like a dream but idles high (obviously)

Haynes has all of the diagrams, both of those screws are idle mixture screws, they don't effect the running of the engine when its under load. Check the ignition timing, and that the vaccuum advance on the dizzy is working OK.
