Hello all,

Have sorted some prices out for 4 pot brake kits, only thing is there is 2 options and thought it would be best to ask you all on what is prefered.

Both kits come with Dicsc, calipers, mounting brackets, bolts, brake pads, flexy hoses.

The 2 kits i have priced for a group buy are wilwood midilite 280mm for ?525 including VAT and delivery. Second option is Hispec 285mm kit for ?570 including VAT and delivery. These prices are based on 5 people wanting a kit.

These 2 kits are what i thought would be the most popular an will fit under most 15" wheels. Can also supply a smaller 256mm wilwood kit for 14" wheels. larger kits are availble if running 16" or 17".

So what do you all think then???

I'ld be quite inetrested in the willwood 256mm jobs. Are they the old Dynalites? What sort of price could you do on them?

Chris Astley

That kit would be midilite, only difference being the midilite has dust seals on the pistons and the dynalite doesnt. For the 256mm midilite kit with pads and lines the price would be ?435. If you want dynalite they do a 247mm kit for 13" wheels which is ?380. Can also do a dynalite version of the 280mm kit for ?415.

Here is some info on the wilwood

"The new Midilite four piston radial mount is the first of a new generation of Wilwood aluminium calipers produced from a drop-forged billet. This forging process produces a body design that provides higher strength and reduced load deflection superior to any cast or machined block billet caliper, combined with substantial x-bolting and extended flank design it is one of the stiffest, radial mount calipers currently available."

"Most multi-piston calipers suffer from low speed caliper squeal caused by pad torsional vibration - The Midilite caliper features the unique Wilwood SRS (Squeal Reduction System) incorporating stainless steel pad retainers. These retainers eliminate the bridge wear caused by pad gouging and reduce the pad rattle/vibration harmonics which are the primary cause of the annoying '4-pot squeal'"

Disc size is 280x24mm.
This kits comes with wilwood brake pads which are suited to fast road and track day use.

Here is some info on the Hi-spec brakes,

Calipers can come in a choice of colours, Red, Silver, Gold, Blue. Kit includes brake fluid also.

Also the wilwood can come with Mintex or ferodo pads at extra cost if they have a pad off there own choice, just let me know what compound you want and i will price them up.

Can also do a dynalite version of the 280mm kit for ?415.

I'd be interested in that.

Will the price be cheaper if you have more orders than 5?

Perhaps the group buy could be extended to JOV, MIG and VauxSport ??

The group buy is already on my own forum, mig and corsa sport, your welcome to invite any other forums. Mite be able to do a bit more discount if we get 10, will have to see what i can do.

Just to be clear, is there alot of difference in the 2 kits? The price would suggest there is?

Olly H uses the Dynalites and i hear very good things about them.

Chris Astley
29-02-08, 12:18 PM
The midilite is the new version of the dynalite, the midilite has dust seals on the pistons and is a more rigid design, generally a nicer looking caliper too. Both perform the same job but the midilite is the better of the 2.

Are these not just kits from www.rallydesign.co.uk (http://www.rallydesign.co.uk) ?

Chris Astley
03-03-08, 09:59 PM
Yes they are kits from rallydeisgn as they are the Uk distributor, my package prices are about the same as there kits retail, so in theory you get free brake pads and braided hoses and free carriage.

How soon would people be interested in the kits?
