8v or 16v?

I had throttle bodies on my old C16XE, they're fantastic. Power went up from just over 100Bhp to nearly 160Bhp (with a good exhaust.) Carbs are also gonna give you good power increases, but need to be jetted/tuned properly, you also won't get the low down driveability which you get from TB's.

Seeing your engine again dec brought it all back to me how gorgeous that car was and not only that it had the oomph to do it when it counted. I seem to remember you were pretty much untouchable in the 1600 class at Santa pod shootout back in the day:D

Jamienova -there are plenty about on 16v not many on 8v. The recognised tuners are the places to go to see what is or isnt feasible with TB's such as SBD.
There is a divide between old school which is usually 8v and twin 40's and new school 16v and TB's. You pays your money and takes your choice

To be honest mate throttle bodies on the 8v engine arent the way forward, stick with the standard inlet manifold and retro fit a larger throttle body and put it on mapable standalone management and you will see much greater gains for a lot less money. If you fit throttle bodies you will find you loss most of the low down torque which the 8v is good at producing, when i built my orange nova this produced about 170bhp but the torque from it was phenominal, only thing i never got sorted was it would have been best suited with a 2 1/8" system, i had a 2" at first which it struggled to pull over 7250rpm in the top gears, then i chaged it to a 2.25" and it revved all the way to 8000 easily but lost some of the torque, but sold the car before i got chance to make another system.
