hi every one,
my car has gone of to be sprayed today so have a bit of spare time on my hands so i thought i would start my own wip thread so hear goes,

As some of you may or may not i know i brought rob77 old shell of ebay a little while ago now, it has sat in the garge a phew months only doing a bit hear and there when i had time in between other things, hear is pictures and info of what i have done so far and will try and keep you updated as much as i can,

Had to weld the brackets back in for the rear seats to mount and the dash aswell (didnt get any pictures of that), the plan was for me to spray the car my self to try and save some money, had a go but didnt come out to well so decided to get it done by body shop instead !

This week i have cut the front of the cross member out and and boxed it all back in so i can get the intercooler to sit behind the front bumper !

Am just gonna get the shell sprayed firts and then they are gonna spray the wrest at a later date !

i have done loads and loads of other stuff so far but need to get pictures of it so will post them up as soon as i can cheers people !!!

well today has been fairly busy, but not much progress really, managed to get some pictures of the work i have already have had done before i started the thread -

had my metal plug cover powder coated black a little while ago, also got round to wet and drying the top i think it looks better rather than just all black

Started rebuilding my engine about a month ago but has grinded to a hault really had to use my funds else were, but any way the block and head were built up and bolted down !

brought some brand new standard mahl pistons and new rings and used my conrods and crank from my old xe, Used all genuine gaskets and bolts aquired from autovaux (excellent company i many add) but used the z20let steel head gasket from rally many (yet another excellent company). all new bearing and bolts but have now decided to take my conrod bolts out and use arp's instead !

polished my rocker cover up last week along with the dizzy housing and the end cam cap so fitted them on to the engine today

had my inlet manifold powder coated black so fitted that as well !

i had a hydralic hose burts on the digger at work one day and we have a company to come out and make new one, it just so happened that i had some braided fuel line and the unions in the car (what a cowisidence) so he crimped them on for me

i have had some one off black and cream leather interior made up, so far i have had the roof lining done, pillars, front door cards, rear door card, steering wheel, handbrake gaytor, gear gaytor plus other bits that i cant remeber lol just got my seats left to do, hear are some of this bits i have already had done -

Its costing me an arm and a leg so there progress on interior is a little slow but all one of so i love it lol

the car is going black, did have a go my self but did come to to well (running 120psi on the compressor didnt help :eek: ) but there we go we all learn fro our mistakes lol

Re the seats - black centres and white arms or vice versa?
