Have a look in the insurance section - lots of people have insured converted cars.

Your best options would be Adrian Flux/HIC, Sky, Performance Direct etc.

Well considering what a turbo'd 1600 16v would be capable of, id expect a big premium.

How old are you? How many ncb?

Get the wallet out.

Considering a 1600 16v turbo, should be capable of 180-190bhp EASILY lol lol

Id expect a 1500-2500? premium tbh.

At 18 i paid about a grand on a 1.2i!

Profile age says 18. Flux and quite possibly Sky won't insure you until you're 19, and even then expect a large premium.

You can get insured easily if you're willing to pay the price.

if youre sticking a bigger engine in the car declare it - if you dont and you insure it as a lesser car and youre involved in an "incident" despite people saying "they cant tell the difference because one engine looks like another" is b0ll0x. insurers arent stupid - they know.

If you tell DVLA they update their records and send you a new V5. When you call the insurer for a quote they ask for your reg and when entered it pulls up the spec of the car based on what dvla have it logged as. they then ask you a series of other q's to confirm details, mods security etc...

Then they either decline it or make you pay more (after slapping on a few loadings for the mods). Occasionally you get a refund.

I work for a big car insurer and have seena many a "log dodger" as we know them by. 99% have the policies voided - as theyre usually involved in an accident at the time the police are'nt too chuffed and throw the book at them (remember smaller engine usually means lower emsissions so smaller tax)...police dont like that!
