Speedline allesios are expensive as theyre manufactured specially in a 49mm offset. The choice of wheels will also depend on the overall style of your car, what you value more - performance/handling or looks and to an extent the colour.
Though generally anything in a five-spoke (even if it's a split five-spoke type thingee) will look good.
Bigger is better  , though don't bother going over 17 inches as above this the extra loss of handling/performance is not worth the gain in looks (which is not that much). Though this is my opinion. And i may not even practice what i preach.

how much with/without tyres are speedline aleso 2's? Where can i get em from, will i need to roll arches if i wanna put 16's on a 60mm drop? or would 40mm be more practicle for handling ect.?
Neil
i had my last nova dropped 60mm and the arches had been rolled and never had a problem. don't know bout a price though. id expect around ?500 second hand with middlin tyres.
if youre thinking of getting GSi front & rear bumpers (good choice and dont forget side skirts to complete round the car) why not go for GSI 3 spoke wheels? Give the car the full original look
I have a set I'm gonna sell - with ok rubbers (front may need changing v soon) and 7 centre caps (3 spare) - only ?60 (not inc delivery)
Wheel rims are a little scuffed but nothing a bit of sand paper and a lick of wheel paint wont sort out quickly!
Let me know if youre interested, I'll be in Stafford for the next 2 weeks.

LOL @ Ade......
It just so happens that you are selling a set..... :D :D
If you are getting some wheels then the best piece of advise that I can give is to get wheels as close to the 49mm offset you can. If I buy some more wheels in the future then I will definately stick to that figure - makes life a lot easier when it comes to lowering it and sorting out arch problems. Mine are ET42 and I have had to get the rear arches rolled, and am going to be doing the front ones soon - so stick to the ET49.
I think that from a pure handling point of view 15" rims with 195/45 tyres on will be the best - it will also help to keep the speedo reading virtually the same.

when i look in mags and stuff for alloy packages they normaly come in 15" with 195/50 or 205/45 tyres, so would it better to by the rims and tyres seperatly to get 15" with 195/45.
Please SOMEONE answer me this,
can i fit 15" with 195/45 tyres on a 60mm drop WITHOUT rolling the arches, and does 'rolling' the arches mean taking off that lip on the inside on the wings?
PLEASE tell me someone!
Cheers, Neil

Most wheel and tyre packages are advertised as 195/50/15's, but if you ask they'll do the same one with 195/45's for a little bit extra. As long as you get a 45mm offset or above you'll have no problems with lowering it -60mm. You will need to get the rear arches modified. The lip will need cutting back and re-sealing to prevent rust. A bodyshop will do this for approx ?50 all in. You shouldn't even need to touch the front wings with 15's.
There's loads of companies making wheels in/around the vauxhall offset now, so it's not so much of a problem anymore. You can get 18" Technomagnesium rims in 18" by 7" in a 49 mm offset.
Think about where you're going with your car as it's not so much more work to get bigger wheels (17's) rather than 15's, though backseat passengers will possibly be a no no (but if you're planning a rollcage/bucket's then it's ok). No point spending money on 15's when in a few months you decide that you want bigger wheels. Which you could have had for not much extra. Like i did.

You can get the SPEEDLINE ALESSIO 2 wheels (6.5 by 16 et49) from Wheelbase. They do 3 packages:
1 - 195-45-16 budget tyres for ?681.50
2 - 195-45-16 Yokohama tyres for ?799
3 - 195-40-16 Dunlop tyres for ?799.
You can get them on finance, but considering the fact that you can get 17's for just over ?600 now, they're rather expensive. The above mentioned 18's are ?999!
Anyway, if you want you can contact them on 0161 628 0000 (based in Oldham, Manchester).
Also they have a site (which i haven't had a look at yet) at:
