View Full Version : Fuelpump 16V engine?
I just got my nova 16V running after various problems.
My fuelpump was faulty so i changed it to a nova 1.4I pump but i have only got 1.8bar fuelpressiure, the 2.0 16V engine should have 2.5Bar fuel pressiure.
What kind of fuelpump are common to use on nova 16V:s?
Please help me.
/Peter
i believe most people just use the nova fuel pump that is on the car from the factory, as my car didn`t have a fuel pump originally i used the one off the astra.
You could just go to the scrapyard and get an other one off a cav or an astra, 1.8 engine and above use the same 2.5bar pumps, if memory service me right, nova pumps are 1bar apart for the 1.2i which is .75 bar.
I don`t know if it makes a hell of a lot of difference, as i know people just using the nova pumps and they have no problems.
The astra fuelpump that u use is it for mounting inside tank?

nova/corsa/astra 1.2i/1.4spi in tank = low pressure
everything else = high pressure

i've got a 2.5 v6 vectra pump in there now the 1.2i pump wasn't powerfull enough
robs got a 500bhp+ escort cossie one in the 1.2i tank on his spider
if your fuel pressure is low you do have problems, when u put ur foot down on low revs its ok to start with then as the revs build up and ur using more fuel the engine just dont wanna pic up, like its trying to stall. you have the same problem when your runing out of petrol using on injection engine!!
The best fuel pump i found i the one of the NOVA gte or the GSI Ive had it on my nova which is a 2.0 16v, it works fine no problems at all
Thanks
