front one is just 8 ten mil bolts. Piece of piss, shouldn't even need to jack the car up much. Not sure about the rear, never done it!

I'm thinking that the strut brace goes over from one strut to the other over the air filter, does it matter if I've still got my original flying saucer air filter will this get in the way!!

I've already got the car lowered 40mm is this going to cause a problem installing the braces?? 8)

There is a bit of confusion here I think?. Anti roll bars are not fitted to stiffen the chassis like strut braces. They are fitted to limit the travel of the tie bars and the rest of the suspension when the car tries to roll (pitch to one side) during cornering by linking them together with spring steel. This transfers energy from one side of the car to the other which shows up as force which pushes in the opposite direction to the travel of the tie bar etc. Strut braces only have a minor effect on this by eliminating chassis flexing around the turrets and in no way should be considered as a replacement for a proper anti roll bar. If you want a car to corner well the first thing to sort out is an effective anti roll bar system before dampers, springs or anything else.
There are different sized std ones - the biggest diameter one being off the 1.6 's so I'm told.

well said CP (never knew that! :o )

Anti Roll bars are dead easy to fit - difficulty os getting under the car to do it lol! :D

Got loads of pics if you are interested when I fitted mine - haynes gives the basics but its good to have pics. PM me when you get some & I'll e-mail you them

if its still rolling about (define how much roll you have - do you feel like you are losing control of the car) they I'd check yer suspension - roll can be caused by a failed shock - just the spring bouncing around.

I thought it was you Simon. How ya doing m8? Long time no see.

Well if you've got one on and you still feel its rolling about badly then you should also consider getting a matched uprated and lowered spring and damper kit. This will help a lot. I haven't tried swapping to the 1.6 anti roll bar. They are just a few mm. thicker as far as I know and should swap straight on no problems if you've got the brackets that go with them? I've got a 1.4 sr one on and am thinking of adding another 1.4 one to see what its does out of interest but I'm not really suffering from roll thats a problem for fast road use. Haven't made up my mind how to do it tho. I was originally hoping to fit the anti roll bar off an Escort van which bolts to the front chassis cross member but I couldn't get it to fit to the tie bar properly. The good thing about adding quite a bit uprated roll bars is that you can improve the lateral stability a lot without making the ride any harder or harsher
