We finally got the drag nova back out for the first time this year, were using more nitrous now but the track conditions were awful, due to wheelspin the best we managed was a 12.5 @ 117mph, were 2/10's down on our normal 60fts so I expect to see us in the low 12's at some point.

Turbo Gav also ran a 13.7 off gas in it which was mighty impressive for a stock xe engine :thumb:

Excellent work, what have you done to get a 13.7 from a stock xe :p. I really dont have much faith in mine doing anything exciting looking at what times other peoples are putting down this year.

I can guarantee the engine is dead stock, sfi box the lot, ok it has a magnex exhaust, we fitted the dispack ex cam and the head off the old engine as its a freshly rebuilt coscast that I put together a few weeks ago.

We pulled the engine out of a high miler Astra Gsi last thursday after the other engine failed.

The car is light, thats the reason its so damn fast off gas, I'd say it would go quicker off gas too if there was any grip.

Seems to shift and pull pretty well for an xe lump.

13.7 is unbelieveably quick for a standard xe! I like.

Must be down to light car, and good drivers.

As Burgo said, the nitrous does sound like a very hard hit, COOL :cool: lol

I'm quite sure on a good track we'll get down to the low 12's now, then maybe fit some drag radials and hunt the 11's.

The car certainly has the power but we wont put anymore gas through this engine as it must be in pain everytime we hit the button lol

You still on a F20 as well or swapped to a f28 yet?

Yes its on a F20 for now although the box is now knackered so we will change it on sunday after the r/r day.

F28 would be better but this is a budget car so we wont be payiing ?300 for one

I noticed on the in car vid, you dont go on the green light?
Does Pod timing not start when the green light comes on?? Does it start when you start moving/cross the start line?

And yeah, im a pod newb as ive only run a few times, but always gone on the light. lol

The timer doesn't start till you move, the time between the light going green and you moving is your reaction time.

Due to the poor conditions and the fact we were testing out different ideas on each run I wasn't in a hurry to get away.
