right this may be an odd sorta thing but its jumped into my mind,
the girlfriend got this private plate which reads her name,
and it cost her a far bob or 2.
so understand she wants it seen,so i was woundering is there way of makeing the rear plate light any brighter,i tired clean the lens but it dont help.
also i was woundering how hard is it to fit a front plate light(mk1 sr).
i know the things gonna fail the MOT,and i cant be botherd to patch it up.
so i dont really wanna be cutting bumpers and spending alot.
so get the brians working,
if nowt else how do i get that back light real bright?????
must be away without spending loadz

get some massive fog lights and angle them towards your number plate. mabee add some iluminous arrows as well. Only joking. Can't you get a halogen bulb?

super bright leds wil work well - v powerful (I think you can get clear in 12v if not get yellow ones - must be 12v though)

Just make a bracket or use existing number plate holder - slightly modified

they dont need to be 12v

most white or blue LED's work by using a matrix of 4 LED's in one housing

these are internally wired in series meaning they will run on about 4v

simply hook 3 togethe in SERIES following the correct polarity and they will work wonderfully

as for the holder - u might wanna add more - the white LED;s tend to be very bright but have a narrow range of 20-30 degrees so it wouldnt really work if all 3 were in the holder

How about the bolts that have an LED light in the head ??

Thats what i used when i flushed me tailgate and put me plate on the bumper. They look the nuts, and they are fairly bright.

You dont need to much light on plates seein as they are reflective.

I got mine from Demon Tweeks and the are around ?35 for 2 !! They are silver bolts and come in a range of colours !!

arragon - thought you had to get 12v led's coz the power supply to the rear plate light is 12v? Wont 4v led's blow?

Hardly light up at all, and look horrible, 2 lil metal nipples sticking out of ur number plate... I wouldnt bother.

I'm gonna be selling mine if you want them though ...hardly an advert is it? ?25

if u connect 3 4v blubs in series they will require 12v to turn on

therefore if u hook em like this:

+[LED]-+[LED]-+[LED]-

then connect the battery across the outside + and - it will work fine
