What bucket seats and harness's do people recommend? Got a decent budget to spend.

What type are you after?

Light-weight fixed back?

Or reclinables?

Cobra Imolas are a nice fixed back bucket:

FG or Kevlar backed seats, each weight about 6kg ish, but cost a fair whack.

Um its abit difficult this IMO cos for the best safety you need one of the more expensive sort with protection around the side of your head but if you want something relatively easy to get in and out of or that you can turn round and see stuff behind you these sort are a real pain. It ends up being a compromise

Harnesses however are easier. I would recommend a 5 pointer - I bought sabelt which were reasonably priced at the time. A 5 pointer will stop you sliding out under the belts and wrecking your knees on the steering column as can happen in a 4 pointer

Are you bothered about FIA approved Belts with a quick release buckle not being legal for street use - I could never understand the reasoning for this ruling - Ok to use in a WRC or F1 car - but not legal for road use ????

Didn't know that, we'll have to see what Mr MOT'r says in a couple of months time !!

I've got some Cobra Imola 2's and think there alrite ... got them cheap 2nd hand, just got myself some 5 point 3" Sabelt harnesses as well, seem loads better than the old 3 point Sparco ones i had.
If i had 'decent budget' then i'd get my self some Cobra Evolutions !

I was told that by a copper too/\

Only seat-belt type buckles/clips are mot/road legal.
The aircraft style centre button ones aren't.

Not the cheapest in the world but look the bollox.
I work not far from Cobra and had a few sets from Mark that owns the company and he always been keen for a deal!!
