Can i get some opinons please? I have 1.2sx white nova that i wanna turn into a SR/SRi. I have nearly all parts got but cant decide on a engine, the 1300 is in car at the mo but i have 14se out of a sri as well. The 14se was rolling roaded at 92bhp and if was fitted prob would be kept fairly standard(manifold, exhaust, filter). If i kept the 1300 in her I'd be looking to fit cam,T40's as well as the 4branch all ready fitted. I have 20xe as well but wanna keep her small block.
I don't want crazy power, I just would like a bit of the fun factor.

if you want small block and have already got the 14se then fit that and do what you were going to with the 1300.

Go for the C14SE, stick with the injection system. Don't go for twin 40's on the C14SE, if its a dizzy engine then convert to dispack, then use aftermarket management to control ignition and fuelling. You'll be able to get at least the same performance from the standard inlet and aftermarket management as you could from twin 40's, with the same work done to the rest of the engine.

I vote 14 SE too. It'll also run with a cat if you get MOT/emmissions issues.

I cant see the point in choosing an older, lesser equipped engine over a newer, higher power lump.

c14se's are suprisingly fast IMO!

tell me about it, my old one was fast for what it was..

would easilly pull round to the limiter in 5th and go off the clocks

Cheers guys, 14se it is then, anyone know what final drive is on a nova sri 'box and would it be worth changing for quicker acceleration?
