Fuel Gauge

I bought some Nova GSi 6-dial clocks and put them in my car to find the fuel gauge goes off the scale when theres about a quarter tank in it

The old clocks worked fine though...

Any ideas as to what could be the problem?

Sound like a poor connection, i had the same problem with mine when i lost the earth to the clocks. I presume the sender worked ok with the old clocks?

lol i have this problem sometimes i just give the dash a smack and it will work properly again for a while.. might just start to keep a jerry can of juice in my car

Aye the original sender worked with the old SR clocks but I wanted 6-dial

I'll keep some spare petrol in the car incase all goes wrong like, fcuk a gauge :)
