Hi, I was thinking of buying a bolt on k&n air filter for my 1.2 nova.
I know how to fit it but ive had a few people telling me I may need an engine breather fitted to the engine aswell if i want to do this. Is this true ? :S
If so, where can I buy one and what exactly does it do ? =l lol
thanks.
by law the 1.2 ohc (or any modern engine) should have only one point of emission, ie. the exhaust. that is why the breather always goes back into the air intake. most people rig up some sort of catch tank (a bean can with a rag in it for example)

So I won't need to mess around with an engine breather then right ?
Just simply bolt on the the k&n air filter ?
some K&N Pancake filters for the 1.2i models have a lil fitting for said pipe to fit on so its like it is on the standerd air box..

Would this 'fitting' come with the new k&n filter though ?
Or will I have to purchase this seperatly ?
unsure mate. its just like a lil pipe, if you remove ya std airbox u'll see what i mean

when i took my standard airbox of i bought a pipercross filter from halfords and it fit straight on the breather hose. its the thick black hose under the box

years ago when i fitted one to my sr the the bottom part of the filter had a small hole in it for the breather if not just drill a hole for it
or fit a breather filter
