I am getting two kicker solo balaric 12" L7 square subs.
I'm not sure whether I need to 2 ohm ones or the 4 ohm subs
and also what amp/s do you reckon I should use?
I looked at the kenwood mono jobie (about 1200 watts), but this is most probably its max power output so wont run as much power when run at a sensible wattage.
The subs are 700 watts rms or 1500 watts max I think.
Any help will be great!!

i think you should run two thousand watt legacy amps, i bought one the other day and i am running 2 10" kicker comps, the amp was only ?100 brand new!!old model badass amp! one amp both subs, kills me and my car !!!
As for models of amp to use i have no idea but your amp should ALWAYS have a lower rms power output than the subs rms, also try to avoid running your amp at more than 75% max power as any more than this over sustained periods can cause the coils in the sub start to melt (they try to draw more power from the amp than it can give), this will decrease your bass response and eventually fuck up your subs completely, sorry if i sound like a boring science teacher or summit but i learned the hard way, so i though i'd pass on my helpfull hints! lol

cool cheers for the advice.
So you reckon run both subs off one amp?
No problems mate!
If your subs are 700W RMS the the kenwood mono jobie which i think you said was 1200W RMS is perfect for both subs assuming that it delivers 600W per channel. Also if you do that and sit the subs at opposite sides of the car you'll get the benefit of tunes where the bass moves side to side (Fugee's do it a lot) . If the Kenwood mono jobie is actually a mono amp (i.e delivers 1200W to one channel as opposed to 600W to two channels) then it is not a good idea to use it.
Hope this helps
