They should be next to the air vents on the dash, if you do not want to keep the head unit then stick a screwdriver down the side of it and push, do this all the way round and it should come out eventually ( signs of a mis spent youth  )

2 knifes work a treat!!!! just be careful! (and dont let ya mum catch ya  )

the speakers should be in the dash on top left and right

Thanks for both those suggestions i'll try the one with the knifes first as i only want to get to the cables at the back to begin with, may swap the stereo over later ... what about the 6*9's in the rear shelf... do you think it will hold them ok?????

Thanx again!

They should be alright, try and put them in, front to back rather than side to side, if u get what I mean as in curved sides facing the front and back rather than the sides as this should reduce the chance of the shelf sagging, if the shelf is alright then don't worry they should be o.k, mine are done on a stealth shelf which will be heavier because of the mdf spacers and it is fine, sorry to go on

Thanks for that.. good tip.... i think you're right, it will reduce the sagging! also.... just one more question to you or anyone reading this..

Infinity vs Sony Xplod 6*9's, can get the sonys for ?40 and the infinitys second hand for ?50 .. which do you guys reckon will work best of a sony head unit (i.e kick out the most heart stopping bass)???????????

Your Opions please.....

Thanks as always

Personally I have only had 1 set of sony's for 2 years now and they are brilliant. I had to take them out a week ago coz one of the wires broke and the difference is amazing, I have got an infinty sub though and again it is brilliant, what goes in ?.................. you decide

Hi Geeza!

I found that Kenwoods really lacking in top-mid frequencys and the high frequencies were muffled .. bearing in mind the speakers i was looking at at the time were 17cm round speakers, can't remeber the model number... How much are the 7*10's new? and do they do a 6*9 ??

Thanks

they do 6x9's but don't know price off the top of me head, i got my 7x10s about a year and a half ago from the catalogue for ?150. so take some off for rip off catalogues and u prob looking at about ?100/120. well worth the money though compared to my ?50 sony 6x9s in the front doors which are tinny pieces of shit!!

Hi mate, lil tip for you, if you screw a peice of MDF to the middle part of the shelf, and mount your speakers to that they will seem to have much more bass, the MDF doesn't flex like the original shelf does, then cover it in cloth, no one will know what hides!!

Thanks Guyz for all your comments, I have brought and fitted the sony xplod 6*9's in the rear shelf and powered them of an amp which is fed from a sony head unit by phonos... and it fuckin rocks !!! I'm gonna put a stealth shelf in when i've got some spare cash which should improve the bass response a bit.

I have to agree with the guys who said that sony have been making really crap speakers but have redeemed themselves with the xplod range ...

Anyways.. once i've done a bit of custom paint work you'll see me nova on here and proberbly at the cruises!

Later
