anyone know anywhere that tunes/re-builds turbos?

for my c20 let standard turbo.

really i would like it hybrid'd.
any web sites? phone numbers?

iirc they recon turbos and can do upgrades etc

TBH I would rather spend the money on / build a custom manifold to suit a garrett style turbo for the same price or a little bit more and get better results.

I used AET Turbos for mine, had some trouble getting companies even to work on mine as they kept claiming it was some crazy hybrid thing that doesnt exist.

you get what you pay for. you can rebuild a turbo for about ?50 yourself (seals,bearings and circlips) but shafts and impellor replacement is a lot more.

if you want someone to do it properly, balance it, and give you a guarantee you will have to pay more monies.

have a look in the back of a Exchange+Mart mag and there are loads of dodgers that will do it for you.

or try an internet search.

If you dont balance it then it wont last long, at the end of the day they spin up to around 200'000rpm. The slightest bit out an its game over for the turbo.

i do my own turbos, ive done a lot and ive had not a single problem. the impellor and nut can be marked so the balance remains.

wouldnt mind attempting it my self as have a spare turbo if it goes wrong.

Ask Keith Robinson who did his rebuild on his turbo - I know he got a good deal on it.

I used Wallace Performance for an exchange Hybrid which turned out to be a Turbo Technics item - ?800 wasn;t cheap!!!

I can either sell you a rebuild kit (though most kkk C-LET units are getting a bit antique now and showing there age internally!!! ) they mostly sufer from excessive carbon build up behind the piston ring at turbine end, which causes ring grove wear and a lot of smoke. Or we can rebuild yours for you.
