They are hard to do to get looking good.
Need plastic welding etc.

lee coley
07-02-08, 05:00 PM
its ok im not a novice with plastic welding etc its my job,

ive got the body of the mirrow cut down all ready for welding but before i do that im going to cut the cover and make sure every thing goes together and works like the glass im still going to have moving glass and removeable covers

Adam
07-02-08, 05:17 PM
Make a few sets and knock them out on here.

lee coley
07-02-08, 05:21 PM
No fibre glass or 'body filler' will be used to make these stubby's.

Ive choped the body and ive fused it in the middle just to hold it while i do the cover,
http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u103/123yoza123/07022008098.jpg?t=1202404268

This is what im using instead of plastic welding, its a 2pack plastic fuser its fcuking great. It dunt crack or shrink or peel off
http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u103/123yoza123/05022008091.jpg?t=1202404625

more pics to follow, cant really do a guide because you cant buy the fuser im using from halfords and its 40 quid a tube.

lee coley

Internal mirror adjustment was removed - due to lack of room in the mirror body/cover

Adjustment was oldskool 'Poke with finger' lol

Thanks guys,im very happy with the mirror, looks just like a factory stubby mirror (not that they made them)

Only problem is that like a dick head ive cut the part off on the inside of the cover that secures it to the body so its only held on with the bottom 3 lugs and the metal strap, not really a problem ill just bond the cover on when its painted.

Cant wait for my next set to start.

Lee made a set of these wile round at my lock up.
It didnt take as long to do as yours and the finished item was a bit differant to yours.
But then again he did his by smashing his mirror off on the door of my lockup.
