I've decided I'm going to get a cheapish convertible this summer, and having looked around, pretty much have the choice of, Escort convertible -pre 93, not XR3i either, Pug 205 CTi, Golf mk 2 1.6, Vauxhall Astra 1.6 or although rare a Nova cabriolet, I know thers one for sale on Mig at the moment, and was wondering if anyones had any experience of them, good to drive, leaky roofs etc, theres plenty of reviews on the others but can't find any on Nova's, I know General Baxter has/had one so looking in your direction!:thumb:

Mk3 Astra is your best bet I think, well built and cheap enough.

I thought both baxter and burgo each have had a cabriolet at one point

Avoid hutchinsons if you want work!

Plenty of decent mk2 astras about too. Saw a nice rare exclusive model on autotrader ar a decent price rcently.

my bosses wife had a mk3 ashtray convertible last summer.....

it looked well.....was really clean........had 17 inch rims etc etc....low miles...etc etc

but it was dark green.....................and he couldnt give it away ffs.

in saying that..........he had no hassle with it at all....and hios wife...drove it all summer without problem.

i think he ended up selling it for ?600 if i rememeber right.

personally i think theyre an ok car.....

and would rate them well above a bloody ford escort lol
