Been asked to look at a c20let mk3 astra which used to be a 1.8 ecotec, its been wired up by someone else but they have never had it running.
After a quick look i found...

Also does anyone know what this wire is....

Anyhelp would be good, there is no spark and the fuel pump aint running. Im going to try my own ecu on it as i know it works, could the crank sensor be the problem? I have put a live to the black plug in the top pic and nothing is different

Crank sensor is required on cranking to prime the fuel pump.

If its anything like an XE it will need the Fuel pump relay to signal the ECU aswell. Both 1st things to check with a non-starter IMO.

I'm no help with the pics sorry Dougie.

pretty much any black wire will be a switched live (worth checking with a multimeter)

Thats the main power connector for the engine loom, 1x permament live and 1x Ignition live.
