head unit probs

hi hot a head unit,whicha mate gave me free, n how he sed it works,
got it home plug in and it swallows and spits out cassete when u ask it,and beebs in the speack some time but wont play f***
or light up
any idea?

did it have standard plugs at the back? (plug the connector in).

Any wires missing or other stuff?

Maybe it just needs a good clean with a tape cleaner. If the radio dont work - make sure ariel is in fully (really push hard till it clips in) - check speakers wired up right way.

Failing that - its shagged.

so if it dont light up that cant b it missing a code or n e thing
its a sony sumthing i dunno wot model.
it swallows casstes,fastforwards em rewinds em,then stops n dont play em.

If it wanted you to put a code in, it would not even accept tapes, sounds a bit poorly to me.
