the differance between thoose two can be the camshaft. What i do know! is that an NE is easy to tickle for more power by connecting connector nr15 or 20 from the ecu to ground!!(have to look at the diagram witch it was again) if you do so, it will give lots more power!! almost the same as an SEH.

im running 20seh but ive seen a ported head i'd like and just want to know if
the heads are different

There is a difference, think it's a code cast into it - one of the EPC-jockeys will be able to help further.

What I will say is be careful. Often the 'ported' and 'gas-flowed' heads you see for sale, are 20ne heads simply made more like the 20SEH/SER head, but still not as good.
